Every May Fourth, the Netherlands stand still for two minutes to remember the victims of World War II. The concentration camp "Kamp Vught" here in particular. Every year on May Fourth, a large group is received here to collectively hold two minutes of silence.

For this piece I used the Armenian Duduk and played it myself. The well known news broadcast "NOS Journaal" used this piece in the 20:00 hour news.

On September 17 1944, the Allied Forces launched a daring airborne operation to secure the Rhine River crossings and advance into northern Germany.

The operation succeeded in capturing the Dutch Cities of Eindhoven and Nijmegen along with many other town. But the operation failed in its most important objective; securing the bridge over the Rhine at Arnhem.

This operation is know as Operation Market Garden.

80 years later we remember the more than 41.000 airborne soldiers who fought for our freedom. "Liberty" is written for these soldiers and is used in the documented memorial of September 17 2024.
